The Greek and Roman gods & goddesses of myth and legend have been around for centuries, but Greek gods and goddesses are the originals and the first of these two set of pantheons. The article by diffen.com said," Gods in Greek Mythology, i.e. the collection of stories or myths of the ancient Greeks about their gods, heroes and the natural world," (diffen.com). The Greek myths are based on the natural world and heroes that show how Greeks were sentimental by basing its mythology off of the surrounding environment. This illustrates how the Greeks base their pantheon off of the surrounding environment which sounds more original then just borrowing the whole pantheon itself like the Romans did. Another example is," Gods and goddesses based on human personality traits such as Love, Honor, Hatred, Dignity, as well as their roles in life determined by what they were god of, like: Zeus:Sky/weather, Hades: The underworld, Poseidon: Sea, Aquatics, etc."(diffen.com). The gods are also based on the human personality which shows how Greeks were more personal about their gods than the Romans. This shows how the gods were more like their people than acting like they were not. The more they acted like their people it was easier for the people to align them selves with their gods. The gods and goddesses of the Greeks are clearly the pantheon to chant for since they bases their gods on their environment and human personality.
